On Your Marks, Get Set, GOals!

Getting Goal Oriented for 2017

As a project manager, I live by goals. I don’t like starting a new project without knowing where I’m heading and what I’m trying to achieve.

The new year is upon us once again, and again, I don’t know how it snuck up on me so fast. New beginnings are an optimal time to wipe the slate clean and get a clear vision of what you want to achieve in the year.

This year is an extra special one. I was in a coffee shop this morning and read a local Alternative Lifestyle magazine while I ate my morning glory muffin, and there was an article that featured the:

9 year cycle of numerology

2016 was the end of a cycle: 2+0+1+6 = 9

2017 is the beginning of a new cycle: 2+0+1+7 = (10) 1+0 = 1

Now I’m not sure if you believe in numerology, and I’m not sure if I do either – but I do like the idea that we are at the start of a new race, the beginning of a new adventure, and the road of possibilities lays before us.

Your Top 3 Goals

So, take this opportunity to think about your writing and self-publishing goals this year. What do you want to achieve in 2017. Brainstorm your list, and then boil it down to your Top 3.

Now take those Top 3 and see what actions you have to plan and achieve to achieve those writing goals.

Forget about all of those other busy-activities that really aren’t getting you anywhere, and only focus on the activities that will help you achieve your goals. This is the only way to stop that procrastination-cycle and drag your goals over the finish line.

361 days and counting

Only 361 days of this year – so what do you want writing or self-publishing goals will you achieve this year?

I’d love to be your accountability Partner. Let me know what goals you have set for yourself in the comments section below … maybe I can help.
