Updated version of my Bodrum Peninsula Travel Guide

Bodrum Peninsula Travel Guide 2016 version New Cover

Big week this week .. I finally finished gathering and compiling all of the updates to my Bodrum Peninsula Travel guide, and it has been published on Amazon so far.

This was a major update, and so I took the opportunity of updating the cover design with a new image and layout, and reformatted my book in Vellum.

Formatting in Vellum

New Cover Design

I’ve always loved my original cover image, but it irked me that the more I looked at it, the more the Billionaires Club looked like a submarine. So I’ve been diligently taking photos of Bodrum, in the hopes of creating an eye-catching image that would look good on my book cover.

The new image is of Bodrum Marina at sunset – and as Bodrum is synonymous with Blue Cruise sailing, it seems really fitting to have boats on the front cover. I especially love the bow lines in the centre of the image. I also took the opportunity of making my name bigger, so that it shows up more clearly on thumbnails.

New Sub-Title

My original title for this travel guide was “Bodrum Peninsula Travel Guide: Turkey’s Aegean Gem”, but now it’s been renamed to “Bodrum Peninsula Travel Guide: Turkey’s Aegean Delight” – a cultural nod to Turkish Delight, and it flows off the tongue better.

There’s no problems with updating your cover design or title of your ebook, and one of the reasons I’m doing this is because I want to expand my direct distributor relationships. So instead of going via Smashwords for Kobo and iBooks – I want to go direct with them, and I’m in the process of uploading my manuscript and cover image to these two direct distributors.

Now that I have a new cover image, I’ll have an easy way of seeing that the new version of my Travel Guide has perpetuated down the distribution chain.
